Charles Casuscelli says the decision to convert an under-utilised corner block of land in Ashfield, formerly owned by Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) to community space was a sensible outcome that will benefit local families.
Charles Casuscelli has made a special State flag presentation to the Western Suburbs Cadet Division of St John Ambulance in Ashfield.
Charles paid a visit to the cadets and juniors at their base in Knox Street Ashfield during the week to witness the first aid program offered by St John.
"I believe the training offered by St John to volunteers is second to none and will be invaluable to the many young people looking towards careers as paramedics and in the fields of nursing and medicine," said Charles .
"Peter Dixon and his team of first aid volunteers are doing a first rate job of training a group of enthusiastic young men and women dedicated to assisting those in need of urgent medical attention.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in becoming ambulance officer down the track to gain experience in handling and treating common ailments such as fainting, sprained wrists and ankles.
"I was delighted to present the cadets with a new State flag that will fly proudly out the front of their headquarters," said Charles .
